The Villa Wetlands is an ecological sanctuary that is home to a variety of species both flora and fauna through the years is increasingly threatened.
These natural wetlands are a natural reserve, allowing the transit of nesting and migratory and resident birds. It is a natural site with an abundance of flora and fauna, belonging to the National System of Protected Natural Areas SINANPE state, in charge since 2008 of the National Protected Areas -SERNANP, decentralized public agency of the Ministry of Environment, partially managed by by PROHVILLA own initiative, an agency of the Provincial Municipality of Lima.
The area's climate is typical of the central coast of Peru with a winter characterized by gray skies, high humidity and mild showers between June and September and a warm or summer between December and March. Displays total rainfall reaching an average of 60mm.
