This spectacular and unique museum is dedicated to Metallurgy. It has a collection of eight thousand pieces, made by goldsmiths of ancient times, as a tribute to the pre-Columbian Peruvian cultures in its various manifestations. In this museum we can find a variety of artifacts such as precious metals gold and silver, multiple textiles, ceramics, mummies, trophy heads and other valuables of the time as the replica of the lord of Sipan, which is our Tutankhamun (Egyptian King)
Through the study of these objects, it has been possible to learn about the process of metallurgy and textile elaboration, cultural believes and society organization.
Gold and silver was represented as a magical and religious symbol in Peruvian cultures. In preincas these metals represented a constant duality sun-moon, day - night, male-female.
